However, I still get failures of the ASIO Digidesign drivers (all three of them) in both of my audio programs. It also helps to improve the overall export time it takes to export your project. It makes for a quicker load time., which is always important when trying to be time-efficient in your music production. UPDATE: I noticed that the installation document for PT LE 8.0.4cs2, found at, states that "Pro Tools LE Windows users should run the separate "Avid Audio Drivers Setup" installer (included with the download) after updating to Pro Tools LE 8.0.4cs2 for Windows." Asd files allow Ableton to quickly scan for important data about each audio sample when you load Ableton. I'll search the DUC some more for possible solutions, but yes, if you'd like to direct me to your workaround posting, or copy it in as a reply here, that would be appreciated. But when I try to use them, I either get an error like the one I mentioned (in Ableton Live), or I don't have any inputs or outputs available for the ASIO client (in the case of Reaper). If there's some specific installation I need to do, I'll be glad to do it, but since the Digidesign ASIO drivers are listed in my other audio programs, it looks like the drivers were installed. That's interesting - according to the Windows Audio Drivers Guide, pg 3, "The Digidesign ASIO Driver and WaveDriver for your Digidesign hardware are automatically installed when you install Pro Tools". I have a crimson red one, very cute machine! Don't have Ableton.Nish- thanks for the response. If you can think of any tricks, please pass them along! Turning wi-fi on or off doesn't seem to matter as neither does the performance based tweaks in their trouble shooting list. I'm not so sure as it's definitely compliant with their preferred chips. I was on the phone with Digi yesterday and they think it might be the 4 pin Firewire jack. Restored the entire machine from disk image to factory shipped disk (another great feature) and reloaded the PT a number of times. On the left-hand side, click on the '+' to the left of your audio interface, then enable the inputs and outputs by clicking on the 'power button' next to them. Choose ASIO as the Driver Type and ASIO4ALL v2 as the Audio Device: Click on Hardware Setup.
Haven't tried recording yet as I think this issue needs to be resolved immediately. Launch Live and open Live's Preferences -> Audio. Only problem is that when I go to play a track from a previous session, the cursor moves, but only occassionally will play audibly with sound. I've successfully loaded the PT 7.4 (with Vista) and the MBox 2 Pro.
Now, the only trick will be to make it work. Yeah, the M1530 is quite a nice toy and I got it refurbished from Dell with a 200GB 7200RPM drive for about $1500 less than an equivalent MacBook Pro.
